Biltong goes really well with raw veggies. Eating raw vegetables is stupidly easy and they taste great. A lot of the time uncooked veggies are even better for you than their cooked companions. “If you cook your veggies in water, you'll lose some water-soluble vitamins, because they leach out into the cooking water” I read. Screw that… I want all the vitamins I can get!
If you don’t trust who you’re buying from you should give the veggies a quick wash before hooking in. If you’re organised, avoid buying food from grocers you don’t know and trust in the first place.
Take bites of multiple veggies at once and see how they taste together. It’s nice to see how these veggies taste direct from the earth. Try them out with our biltong. This is our go to meal we’re getting hungry at a fresh food market. A raw capsicum goes exceptionally well with biltong, as does carrot.
Don’t forget to cook your cruciferous vegetables.
